Voices of Black Women Leaders in the Non-Profit Sector
In 2003, a number of newly-appointed black women CEOs of non-profit organisations approached Inyathelo requesting fundraising training. In response to this request, Inyathelo decided to try a new methodology – the peer learning cooperative. Ten black women leaders in the non-profit sector came together for a two-year period in this unique development programme focusing on organisational sustainability, including resource mobilisation.
Voices of Black Women Leaders in the Non-Profit Sector reveals the stories of some of the participants in this programme including their personal challenges, lessons learned and the impact of the learning cooperative on their own lives and their organisations. The independent evaluation of this project is also included in the book.
