Lost, in its literal sense, to me, is a way to try to understand a city's character. We Can find unique things in every city that are influenced by various feature:cuisine, tourism locations, youth's hangout place, and the varied individuals living there. The influence shape the city's character and culture.rnThe four cities discussed in the book, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, adn Yogyakarta, have different characteristics albeit their similarities as metropolitan cities. We can see the differences through the four curator's perspectives, who are selected as the participants of RUN & LEARN: New Curatorial Constellations, organized by the Japan Foundation.ahmad Khairudin, Angga Wijaya, Asep Topan, , and Sita Magfira brought forth curatorial projects that specifically raise city issues and their relations with society's characteristics, and their influences to publick space.rnThe four curators were then invited to enrich their insights on each city. They selected and told stories about favorite places where tourist usually visit, usingperspectives that are importantly positioned at the local citizens' view point; those who live and struggle in it everyday, and thuscan provide subjectives views. In addition, there are three essays by Ade Darmawan and Yukie Kamiya, two curators who have played the role as tutors of the four curatorial projects, and another one by Ardy Yunanto who raises the problems surrounding a city's relationship with its citizens.rnWith the information and the insights available here, one may expect that this book is no mere a tourist's guide but spmething valuable for an honest and thorough reading of a city and its culture . Do enjoy the treat of this book and get lost and have great adventures there!
